Aurora University: Celebrating the New Parking Garage On-Campus

Aurora, IL. – On November 25, 2019 Aurora University’s much-anticipated 500 spot parking garage will be open and ready for use. To celebrate this, on November 21st from noon-2 p.m. (4 days before the parking garage is set to open), AU will be hosting a celebration welcoming people to come and check out the new parking garage.

For years, parking at Aurora University has been an issue, making this event which will inevitably help students, faculty of the university, and residents in the neighborhood warranting of a celebration: Which is exactly what AU plans to do!

What fun and games that will be taking place at this event still remains a mystery, however according to an email sent out to Aurora University students and faculty on November 13 at 8:49 a.m. by Sarah R. Russe (AU’s VP for Community Relations), there will be lots of fun as well as food (including hotdogs - yum!), prizes that will be given away, and heaters to keep attendees warm during this event.

For years, Aurora University’s students and faculty have struggled to find parking in the campus lots, forcing them to fill up the streets of the surrounding neighborhoods. Now, with the new parking garage opening on-campus, that will no longer be an issue. “The larger neighborhood wants more parking on the campus,” stated Bruce Goldsmith (an attorney representing Aurora University) in an article in the Chicago Tribune. And that is exactly what they will get!
