News Story Example

Local high school student Bobby Lott, junior at City Central, climbed into a tree in front of the school today at 9 a.m. to sit there until tomorrow’s Friday football game with County Central, City’s archrival. Lott, dressed in the school colors of blue and gold and says this is his way of showing support for the team. Stakes are high as the winner of tomorrow night’s game goes to the state championship.

In return, the school seems to be showing support for Lott as his friends have been taking notes for him in class and have been handing him food. Lott has his parent’s permission to continue in this sit-in, according to Principal Dick Barett who also weighed in on the matter stating: “I won’t make him come down. I don’t think he’ll get behind in his school work.”

Lott is reportedly coming down from the tree only to use the bathroom, but will otherwise remain there until tomorrow’s football game. Lott has stated that he won’t stay in the tree if there’s a lightening storm however: “I may be crazy, but I’m not stupid.”
