Instagram: Digital Media Proposal for Artists and Entrepreneurs (EXAMPLE PROPOSAL)

You are your brand. Your talent is your product. For multimedia artists, whether it be photographers, videographers, models, and various artists, the objective is to get your work out there, have it be seen, to make people want to see more, and to find other artists in your field to have the desire to hire you.
If you are reading this digital media proposal, it means you have the desire to grow online and to be seen. While some artists may benefit from other platforms such as making tutorials on YouTube, your main platform should be Instagram. Instagram is a photo and video sharing social media platform that allows artists of all kinds, as well as bloggers, influencers, corporations, celebrities, and more to be able to show off their platform and a sleek and dominantly visual way.
First, I will help you to understand your niche and your target audience. If you are a photographer, I will be looking at what type of people are most likely to want to look at your style of photography. The same goes for any artist or entrepreneur online. After that, I can take a look at your work you have done thus far and help you create a layout of which order your photos and/or videos should be posted as well as creating a posting schedule. After that, I will be curating a list of hashtags that will perform best for you. Following your first 5 posts I will then begin to look at which times of the day, as well as the days of the week, that your photos or videos posted perform best. Throughout this process and continuing forward, I will be monitoring and tracking engagement and overall post results to help us understand what steps would be best to take next to continue growing. These steps can include anything from trying to get featured on other pages, joining engagement groups (which you should never do unless you fully understand the do’s and don'ts as well as the effects it will have on your insights and reach), a calculated and researched method of tagging other pages in your posts, collaborating with other artists, creating contests, directing traffic to your website, and more.
While it may be hard to hear at times, I will also be open and upfront about how I think people will react to some of your media or direct you down a path that will perform better for you in order to better improve your chances of surviving and thriving on social media. For example, if I see that you are trying to juggle too many forms of art or be apart of too many niches, I would advise that you separate these onto separate accounts. If your media is comes off as an advertisement of you or your talent, I will help you to direct that as well as soften that to make it come off as more personal to viewers. It is important to have consistent and visible branding as well as to know to connect to your viewers and your market group.
There is a certain level of psychology involved in creating a page that people want to follow or even instinctively follow, and that psychology must be harnessed and used to your advantage. To grow, you must learn (and with my aid I will help you learn) how to find a healthy and effective balance between authenticity and staying true to your art while simultaneously catering to what the viewers want to see. Knowing the psychology behind your viewers also helps you understand the frequency in which you should be posting as well as what kind of captions will get a reaction from people. In addition to understanding the psychology of what people want to see and what makes them click the follow button, it is equally important to understand the algorithm and how it works. The algorithm, something that Instagram and Facebook is constantly changing, is what dictates how often your post will be seen, by whom, and whether or not it will land on the explore page. Once you learn and harness the psychology behind how people react to your post and your page, you can then use that information to help you know how to better use the algorithm in your favor to reach more viewers.
Instagram has a number of different ways to track and monitor your post insights depending on how you have set up your profile. However, to do this and get the best results, Instagram will also require you to set up a Facebook business page which I will help get set up and running as well. In addition to this, there are a large number of partner apps that allow you to track and monitor how your Instagram is doing, find more ways to increase engagement, design layouts and pre schedule your Instagram posts, and so much more. I will help you learn to use and efficiently utilize all of these resources.
With all of the steps in place, we should see your following increase by 6-8% per month. That is three times what is commonly seen on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. In addition to this we are projected to gain at least 100 new followers within the first 10 days. This will likely come with an average rate of your followers 3-6% being active engagers (this in industry standard for accounts, and the more followers gained, the more engagement; the more engagement, the more views; and the more views the more followers).
Before our work together is done, I will be sure to leave you with a steady growing and polished Instagram account, all of the tools you will need to continue this growth, and the knowledge on how best to understand the ins and outs of how to succeed and grow your business on social media yourself going forward. At the end of our 6 months working together I will also be providing a packet and PDF of all of the information we have covered should you need to go back and review anything.
